Krakow has always been and is still today one of the most important cultural centres of Poland and was not without a reason named the Cultural Capital of Europe in 2000.

It hosts more than 30 large and small museums and art galleries, among them you will find the main branch of Poland's National Museum and the Czartoryski Museum, the latter featuring works by Leonardo and Rembrandt, eleven theatres, a philharmonics, an opera and operetta, as well as many annual and biannual artistic events. It was also a centre of the Christian and Jewish tradition likewise which are reflected in its architecture. No one interested in art, music or architecture will leave Krakow unsatisfied.
