Art Museums and Exhibits.

Home to a wealth of distinguished painters and sculptors throughout the centuries, Krakow today continues to house an art scene that is intrinsic to the heart and soul of the city. Today visual art still lives and breathes in Krakow with its multitude of museums and galleries, slew of modern artists and of course the Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts.

In the city’s art museums you will find collections from the Gothic era, the Renaissance, the Baroque period as well as the 19th and 20th century. Magnets include, Da Vinci’s 'Lady with an Ermine’, Rembrandt's ‘Landscape with the Good Samaritan’ as well as paintings by Poland’s darlings Jan Matejko and Stanislaw Wyspianski. Galleries and exhibitions throughout the city present contemporary work by Polish artists.
