Jazz.

Jazz has got a long tradition in Poland. Just as all over Europe this music style was very popular before the Second World War and you could listen to it in several Polish venues.

The suppression of this fascination by the communistic authority after World War II was avoided by unofficial performances in private houses.

In the late 1950s there began the development of an authentic jazz movement in the country.

Today there are about 40 jazz festivals a year, which present the many various styles of this music.
