With over 500,000 items in its collection, Krakow's Archaeological Museum contains a wealth of artefacts, some of which date back to Palaeolithic times.
Among the extraordinary exhibits are Egyptian mummies, stone-age art and a statue of Swiatowit, an eight foot tall Slavonic deity, thought to be the world's only Slavonic idol to be discovered.
Krakow's Archaeological Museum houses two permanent exhibitions: 'Malopolska in Prehistoric and Early Middle Ages' and 'Gods of Ancient Egypt'.
