Founded in 1879, Muzeum Narodowe w Krakowie, Krakow's national museum, is not only Poland's oldest but also its largest museum. It consists of 10 branches, 21 departments, 11 galleries and two libraries. The main building is home to 20th century Polish art, a gallery of decorative art, a collection of arms and armour and some impressive temporary exhibitions.
