John Paul II International Airport, lies about 11km west of Krakow city and is Poland's second busiest airport. Small in comparison to most other international airports, Krakow international with its two terminals, is very easy to get around. Some of the airport facilities include bars, restaurants, coffee shops, duty free, an ATM, a travel agency, a branch of the BPH S.A. bank, car rental services, a number of small shops and a currency exchange.

The International Terminal can be found in T1 and T2 houses a separate Domestic Terminal. A free shuttle bus, running every 15 minutes, connects these two terminals with each other as well as with the train stop. There is also a cargo terminal that contains a warehouse, shipping companies and custom agencies. Airlines that fly to and from Krakow Airport are: Aerlingus, Austrain Airlines, British Airways, Brussels Airlines, CSA Czech Airlines, Easy Jet, EL-AL Israel Airlines, Iberia, JetAir, Lufthansa, Norwegian, Ryanair, SAS, Transavia and Volareweb.

Getting to and from Krakow's International Airport is very convenient. Whichever mode of transport your decide to take -- car, bus, train or taxi -- the journey to the heart of the city will not take long.

Getting to the city by car takes about 20 minutes depending on traffic. Located opposite the passenger terminal, the airport's car park can accommodate up to 756 vehicles and is open 24 hours. Car hire is available from Avis, Europcar, Hertz, Sixt, Budget and National Citer.

If you decide to take the bus, you will find the bus stop for lines 292 and 208 located near T1 and T2 terminals. A single ticket into the city will cost 2,60 PLN – this works out at about 0,68 EUR. Tickets can be bought at The RELAY press salon in T1 or The KOLPORTER kiosk in T2. If you buy a ticket from the bus driver, this will cost 3,10 PLN – 0,82 EUR. The journey into the city can take up to 45 minutes.

The fastest way into the city of Krakow from the airport is by train. An airport shuttle bus, operating between T1, T2 and the railway station, provides a free transfer service to the train stop but it is also possible to walk the 250 metres from T1. The train journey into the city's main railway station, Krakow Glowny, takes 16 minutes and costs 6 PLN – 1,58 EUR.

Krakow International Airport is also serviced by Taxis which are located outside T1 and T2. A journey into the city centre costs between 50 and 70 PLN, about 13 – 17 EUR, and takes 20-25 minutes.
