Four Hours.

Perhaps it is just a stopover en route to somewhere else, perhaps it happened by accident or maybe it was even planned that way – but you have four hours, you are in Krakow and you have no idea what to do!

Instead of frittering the time away in some local bar, how about taking a walk around the city? Wouldn't you like to breathe in the atmosphere and discover the sights? If you think four hours are not enough, think again! Fours hours is plenty of time to introduce you to the city's main centres of interest and hopefully once you have been introduced it won't be long until you come back again for a longer visit.

Starting at St Florian's Gate, the historic entrance to the city, the Royal Way will take you through the heart of the Old Town and past major sights such as the Barbican, the Church of St Mary's and the Market Square. Once you reach Wawel Hill you can explore the magnificent royal castle and the splendid Wawel Cathedral. Backtrack to the Market Square if you are feeling a little peckish. The restaurants and cafes at Rynke Glowny, serving not only traditional Polish cuisine, are guaranteed to satisfy any appetite.

If you are in search of something a little more hip, then stroll down to Kazimierz. Once a bustling Jewish quarter, today Kazimierz is a fashionable district and home to young artists and designers as well as trendy clubs, cafes and bars.

Four hours in Krakow is guaranteed to whet your appetite for more. So next time you plan a trip, make sure you leave ample time on your itinerary for Poland's most legendary city.
